This has been my favorite episode so far!! Such helpful information! Thank you so very much, Liz!!!
Hurray! I’m really glad you like it and am so appreciate that of your stopping by to tell me. Thanks so much for listening!
Liz, I see that a couple of the oils you talk about have 1,8 Cineole after their Latin name. Is that something I should look for on my oils label? I won’t buy oils that don’t have the Latin name on them, but don’t recall seeing this info on the bottles.
Hi Robin, you ask a terrific question! When I teach, I stress to my students to obtain a GC/MS report with their essential oil to understand the chemistry of the oil they are buying. 1,8 cineole is a molecule and you won’t always know it is in the essential oil unless you get that GC/MS report from your supplier. I wrote a blog post about GC/MS report here that may help you understand this: https://aromaticwisdominstitute.com/are-your-essential-oils-gcms-tested/
Liz,
Being new to essential oils and also an allergy sufferer for years, I found this podcast intriguing. Where would I find a recipe for using these oils, and would I mix certain ones together? Sorry if these questions seem lame, but I’m just trying to find other methods of treatment since the medical community would like me to get rid of my children’s cats and use Sudafed frequently.
For autumn I like to relax with 4 drops cypress, 2 drops white fir, and 2 drops sandalwood into my diffuser. As we are now in winter, I like spiced cider by adding 4 drops wild orange, 3 drops cinnamon and 3 drops ginger.
I’ll try the six essential oils you listed too! My wife became allergic to our cat, so hope it helps.
