My role as an aromatherapy educator began most suddenly, rooted in a personal experience that showcases the profound impact of essential oils.

A Journey With Aromatherapy

It all started in Rome, Italy, in 1991, when my life took a turn toward the extraordinary world of aromatics. I had my second son, Gianluca, in a clinic that practiced newborn massage. The very thought of massaging a baby, let alone my newborn son, initially filled me with skepticism. However, what I witnessed was a tender bonding experience, enhanced by an aromatic golden oil provided by the nurse. This oil, rich in Calendula flowers and Roman Chamomile, provided a cocoon of calm for both my son and me.

The intriguing benefits observed from this experience propelled me to explore more. As an aromatherapy educator, I now realize the importance of understanding the substance that had such a calming effect on my child. I delved into the characteristics of Roman Chamomile, known for its natural sedative properties, and Calendula officinalis, with its anti-inflammatory benefits. This revelation ignited a spark of curiosity within me about the power of essential oils.

Becoming An Aromatherapy Educator

My curiosity led me to frequent an ‘erboristeria’, or herbal shop, which became a reservoir of knowledge for me. There, the shop owner became my informal teacher, guiding me through the nuances of essential oils and their applications. This interaction laid the groundwork for my future as an aromatherapy educator.

In the United States, after my return in 1996, I embarked on formal aromatherapy training across various schools and with numerous teachers. It was in 2010 when I reached a milestone in my journey – the inauguration of the Aromatic Wisdom Institute.

The Birth Of Aromatic Wisdom Institute

The Aromatic Wisdom Institute was born from a passion to demystify the contents of amber bottles. These bottles, filled with essential oils and hydrosols, held mysteries that needed unveiling. The goal was clear: educate, inspire, and empower people about their practical, life-enhancing uses.

Through meticulously designed courses, engaging podcast episodes, and informative blog posts, we offer a comprehensive curriculum. This curriculum covers everything one needs to know about essential oils and hydrosols. We ensure that students gain not just knowledge, but practical, usable skills. Our materials cover the chemistry of oils to their therapeutic benefits, structured for a step-by-step learning journey.

Community And Support

Recognizing the importance of community and support, we extend beyond traditional online learning. We offer co-work sessions where students can collaborate on their coursework. This fosters an environment of mutual success, ensuring that students feel supported throughout their educational journey.

Since shifting to online learning, my appreciation for live interaction has deepened. Despite physical distance, we maintain personal connections through one-on-one sessions and community support features. My goal is to be more than an instructor but a mentor, guiding students with warmth and real-life experiences.

As an educator with over 25 years of hands-on experience, I ensure our curriculum is reliable and informative. Staying current with industry standards, the Institute is recognized as an approved certification program by NAHA. This underlines our dedication to excellence.

Certification from our Institute opens doors to new careers as professional aromatherapists or enriches personal lives as informed hobbyists. Our graduates are equipped with knowledge and confidence in the safe, effective use of essential oils and hydrosols.

My journey from a new mother in Rome to a dedicated aromatherapy educator has spanned nearly 34 years, and my passion for aromatic plant medicine only continues to grow. I am extremely grateful that I followed this serendipitous path. It has led me to build a life around teaching and sharing the remarkable benefits of aromatherapy.

I am continually inspired by the ways in which aromatherapy can enhance people’s lives. It is a privilege of being an aromatherapy educator, and I look forward to sharing the wisdom that these treasured botanicals have to offer with you.
